An extended clan of eight, including five awesome minors, joined an instructor for a fine day of sailing on the Westport River in variable but consistently beautiful conditions. The tides couldn’t have been better timed for not worrying much about the location of the West Branch’s winding narrow channels, and for reaching both Great Island (above) and Adamsville. Things got interesting negotiating the harbor’s mooring field as the day’s breeze faded and the ebb current built… and it was great to have plenty of hands to put the boats back on the hard!
