Dinghy Cruising 2014 Season About Us Logs (with photos!)

This year we are offering two exciting, full immersion programs for adults (and minors accompanied by a parent/guardian), embarking from Wesport, Massaschusetts. Participants sail and camp in boats with just one, or at most two others, making this a great activity to share. Dates and prices* listed at bottom of page.

Westport Weekend - An introduction to the basic skills of handling small boats on the picturesque Westport River. Saturday morning we begin to explore the estuary, practicing rowing, tiller steering and boat safety. In the afternoon we hoist sails and learn to sail together. By evening we anchor the boats off a beach, rig cockpit tents for sleeping, and check the weather and predicted currents. Sunday morning we study coastwise navigation, and embark on a mini-cruise.

Eight Day Voyage - A coastal cruise for those who have either taken our weekend course or have other sufficient sailing experience. The first day and a half of this trip is spent refreshing returning sailors and considering our options for a weeklong trip, given forecast winds and currents. Once the group reaches consensus on a sailing plan and boat assignments, anything is possible!
